How to Volunteer

Kitten Rescue relies on volunteers for every part of our shelter operations.  Volunteers are absolutely the key to our success - and we need lots of volunteers to keep our kittens and cats healthy and happy!

We accept new volunteers on an ongoing basis.  Whether your interest lies in housecleaning shifts, office work, fostering, or any of the other dozens of duties, we have the volunteer work that will work for you.

We ask that volunteers commit at least 25 hours to the shelter over a three-month period. Here's how you can help:

Housekeeping shifts:

We have two shifts for housekeeping each day, seven days per week:

  • Morning shifts are from 7:30 AM to 11:30 AM
  • Evening shifts are from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM

The morning shifts involve thorough housekeeping (cleaning litter boxes, changing food and water, cleaning rooms, etc.) and socialization time. Evening shifts involve light housekeeping (cleaning litter boxes, topping off food and water) and socialization time.

Junior Volunteers:

Minimum Age during Covid-19 is 16 years old. We love our young volunteers but wish to keep them safe!

Community Service:

Kitten Rescue accepts community service volunteers for adults and students.

Other Volunteer Opportunities:

There are almost limitless ways you can volunteer! Let us know how you would like to help!
