At Kitten Rescue, our mission is simple: to give every cat and kitten the chance for a safe, loving home. We are dedicated to reducing the stray cat population through our spay and neuter programs and to building a brighter future for all feline friends.

Founded in 1999, at a time when Mason County had no resources for abandoned cats or kittens, Kitten Rescue began as a small group of volunteers determined to make a difference. Today, we remain the only physical shelter in Mason County devoted exclusively to cats and kittens. We are proudly a no-kill shelter.

Our shelter has grown to include a cozy main cottage and six small outbuildings, two of which were added in 2021. In addition, our dedicated network of foster families helps raise and socialize kittens, preparing them to become loving, adoptable companions.

As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization (Tax ID: 91-2101565), all donations to Kitten Rescue are tax-deductible under IRS regulations. Your support directly funds food, medical care, spay/neuter services, and shelter for the cats and kittens who rely on us. Beyond adoptions, we also serve the community through low-income spay/neuter assistance and a free feral “Fix and Release” program, helping control cat populations humanely and sustainably.

Kitten Rescue is, above all, a team effort. From volunteers who socialize shy kittens and care for the sick, to those who run garage sales, manage donations, or lend their skills behind the scenes—each person contributes to a shared goal. Together, we have built a compassionate, effective organization that has saved thousands of feline lives since our founding.
