Feral Cat Program
Our feral cat program is a Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) program for free-roaming community cats who live outside and don’t belong to anyone. TNR is the most effective method for controlling feral cat population growth.
Using this technique, community/feral cats living outside are trapped, spayed/neutered, ear tipped (the universal symbol of a sterilized cat), and then returned to their outdoor home.
It is not only humane, it is the most effective way to reduce the number of homeless cats. The program has a dramatic impact on the number of kittens and cats entering our shelter.

Sometimes, cats rescued by Kitten Rescue of Mason County aren’t suited to the indoor life, too habituated to being outdoor cats. These cats still need and deserve love, and make excellent working cats. They are vaccinated and spayed/neutered like all our cats, and will keep your barn pest free. We do expect you to provide food, water, shelter, and any additional veterinary care throughout the cat’s life. Adopting a working cat means a bright future for these often overlooked felines. Please consider adopting one today.
